CL2 Networking Solutions

The CL2 Cabinet/Drawer lock is available in three formats, all of which can be deployed to provide a fully controllable network of locks.

  • CL2i incorporates its own power supply and access control system.
  • CL2iA incorporates audit trail and security logging
  • CL2v for integration into third party access control systems or for control by any external trigger voltage between 5-12v DC.

Low Power Consumption

Due to extremely low power consumption, all Servocell locks can be powered, using appropriate software, from very low current sources such as computer network or USB cables, etc, without need for external power supplies.

Where external power supplies are available or required, the low power requirement enables many more locks to be driven from a single power source than systems using motor or solenoid driven locks.

Single iButton® Access Control >> Multiple Unlock

A single key presented to the control box grants access to all locks on the network. This type of system is useful when a single key presentation is required to open several cabinets or drawers.

  • Single iButton reader opens all locks simultaneously
  • Full key management in event of loss
  • Locks stay in "open" state for 30 secs
  • Multi unit control box (mains powered)
  • Power consumption zero when locks inactive
  • Up to 21 users
  • Optional integrated alarm
  • Visual LED + audible feedback shows when system is unarmed
  • Audible feedback on/off via dip switch

Single RFID + Keypad >> Multiple Unlock

As above, but RFID and Keypad are used as the single point of access to control all locks on the network.

  • As above, but RFID + Keypad in place of iButton
  • RFID tags, used elsewhere, can be used on this system
  • Up to 100 users

PC driven Network

Due to the extremely low power consumption and low operating voltage, the Servocell lock can be controlled directly from a PC – either through USB or standard RJ45 network cable.

PC >> Multiple unlock

  • Control through USB or standard RJ45 cable.
  • Opens all locks simultaneously.
  • Appropriate PC software required.

PC >> Individual unlock

  • Control through USB or standard RJ45 cable
  • Opens specific locks at will
  • Appropriate PC software required

Third party Access Control System

Here, Servocell locks may be integrated into a user specified or existing access control system.

  • Operated via any 5-12v DC input
  • Integrates easily with most access control systems

PC driven Network with battery backup

The Servocell CL2i (with iButton access control) can also be networked, if required, via a PC. This variant operates via a USB hub so individual locks can be accessed separately by distinct opening commands.

PC + Battery backup >> Individual unlock

  • USB hub
  • Control through USB or standard RJ45 cable
  • Opens specific locks at will
  • Emergency access via iButton if PC power failure or software crash
  • Less drain on PC, may be critical for medical carts or secure trolleys
  • Access to locks via PC as well as iButton
  • Appropriate PC software required

Built-in Network Solutions

Servocell are currently developing network capability directly into the CL2i, thus giving users all the benefits of the CL2i system without having to add further networking hardware.

  • Simple installed thin two wire network
  • Onboard power supply – each lock has its own long lasting battery;
  • No external devices.
  • Locks can utilise Audit Trail capability.
  • Availability May/June 08.

Two alternatives of self contained network will become available as shown here:

Single iButton >> Multiple locks open

  • Single iButton® reader opens all locks simultaneously
  • iButton network without further networking hardware

Single iButton >> Selected locks open

  • Opens any single and/or group of locks
  • Eg - one key can be programmed to open one selection of locks, whilst different key could open another.
  • Provides maximum flexibility in permissible access
  • Non specific master/slave locks.
  • Network dynamically selects a master unit allowing simple expansion and maintenance
